Shana Tovah!This coming week marks Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year. It is a time for celebration, health, and blessings for the year to come, but also a time to reflect on the past year: what we have done, where we could have done better, what has affected us deeply, and what we must do to overcome our fears and limitations as we move forward.As always, the holiday falls on the New Moon, marking a time to plant seeds of intention and, as it is in Virgo, we are asked to make practical, detailed plans for our future. This fresh start is a reminder to take care of yourself and choose even one idea, one action, that can make a difference.This weekend is also Labor Day weekend, an opportunity to reflect on the contributions of each worker in the building of  America. We hope you take this time off to enjoy a well-earned break with your friends, family, and loved ones!

As we embark on yet another year of the β€˜new now,’ my blessings for each of you are for a healthy mind, body, and spirit and to join together in a renewed commitment to our shared community and mother earth.

Covered CA Update: State of Emergency Special Enrollment Period 

With wildfire season in full swing, Covered CA has some good news for Californians affected by a natural or human-caused disaster. If the disaster has resulted in a declared State of Emergency, you may qualify for a Covered CA Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for 60 days under the exceptional circumstances qualifying life event (QLE). A natural disaster may include earthquakes, floods, wildfires, etc.

Last week, we celebrated Women's Equality Day with a shout-out to the great Israeli stateswoman Golda Meir. The 'grandmother of Israel' was born in Kyiv, raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and became the 4th Prime Minister of Israel in 1969.As a woman, a leader, and an inspiration, she exemplifies the unmatched spirit and strength determined to triumph. On equality, she famously said: "Women's liberation is just a lot of foolishness. It's men who are discriminated against. They can't bear children." πŸ™‚ 

Let’s honor the women who fought to earn the right to vote and participate with the full rights of citizens in our country.
