Reminder: CoveredCA Renewal: Open Enrollment 2021

🍁Greetings, Now is the time! As we all get into the fall season for the last 8 years, it also means that we have to review, renew and A must look into our current health insurance coverage for the upcoming 2021! We hope this email finds you safe and well. The upcoming Thanksgiving holiday gives us a moment to pause in gratitude, as we reflect on the things that truly matter most - our families, loved ones, and community. This year’s Covered California Open Enrollment period is November 1, 2020, to Jan. 31, 2021. December 15th will be the deadline to enroll and change for January 1st. 2021 effective date. Please follow up as soon as you can, either to renew your coverage or get a new quote. With so many of us undergoing major changes in 2020, it is more important than ever to see if you are eligible for a subsidy and compare plans to see how we can save you money for the most comprehensive plan in the coming year. ** We are now doing appointments via Zoom, Live Chat, Phone or socially distanced/with masks in person **

Updates to Covered CA for 2021:

  • The State Subsidy program will provide more financial help to pay for premiums.

  • Rates for 2021 have the lowest average increase in many years. Individuals who shop and switch plans can save an average of 7.3% on their rates.

  • Penalties for not having coverage will be enforced when you file your 2020 taxes

  • Special enrollment windows for people out of work due to COVID, wildfires and other disasters have been extended. Please contact us asap if you are in this category.

 Options:

  • Buy a new plan through Covered California (potentially with a subsidy).

  • Renew your current plan

  • Change to a different carrier. Some policies are cheaper purchased privately!

  • Enroll in Medi-Cal (California’s Medicaid program) if you meet the income requirements.

The deadline to make changes effective Jan. 1 is Dec. 15, 2020. Make sure to review your plan, and remember to review benefits available from your employer too! If this year has taught us anything, it’s that everyone should be insured!
